Troy Polamalu will miss the Pittsburgh Steelers' Thursday practice, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Mark Kaboly is reporting. Polamalu, who also missed Wednesday's practice and did not play in Sunday's 27-10 victory over the New York Jets, is still recovering from an injured calf that he suffered in Week 1.

Polamalu is not expected to play this Sunday when the Steelers (1-1) visit the Oakland Raiders (0-2), who will enter the game with the third-best passing offense in the NFL (324.5 yards per game) led by quarterback Carson Palmer and wide receiver Brandon Myers. Despite the air attack, Oakland has tallied no more than 14 points in its first two regular season games.

Last week without Polamalu, the Steelers allowed just 138 passing yards from Jets' quarterback Mark Sanchez. The 5'10, 207-pound safety did play in Pittsburgh's season opener collecting five solo tackles in a 31-19 loss to the Denver Brocnos.
