Arizona Cardinals practice squad wide receiver Gerell Robinson has been suspended by the NFL for four games, according to 590 KFNS the Fan's Howard Balzer.

Fellow NFL reporter Adam Caplan confirmed the news shortly after, but there still has yet to be any clarification on the exact reasoning behind the suspension. According to team writer Darren Urban, there’s no word of a violation of the NFL’s substance-abuse policy on the league’s official transactions release.

Robinson, who had 77 catches for 1,397 yards and seven touchdowns in his senior year at Arizona State, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Denver Broncos shortly after the 2012 NFL Draft. After being handed his walking papers at final cuts this year, Robinson found a spot on his hometown Cardinals' practice squad.

The Cardinals will be able to replace Robinson’s practice squad spot with another player if they so desire.
