John Abraham arrested; Falcons issue statement

The Atlanta Falcons released a statement on defensive end John Abraham's arrest that was similar to the one they released when running back Michael Turner was arrested just a week ago.

The team is aware of the situation, but not commenting any further at this time, the statement said.

Abraham was arrested by Atlanta police on Monday night on charges of obstruction of police and obstruction of fire fighters. According to John Chaffee of the Atlanta Police Department's Public Affairs Unit, police and fire officials responded to a call about a woman threatening to jump from a Midtown building, but Abraham refused to leave the scene and was therefore arrested.

Abraham has five tackles and a pair of sacks for the 3-0 Falcons this season. The Falcons are just one of three teams that remain undefeated, despite recent run-ins with police.
