C.J. Spiller injury update: Bills’ RB practices Thursday

C.J. Spiller, the Buffalo Bills dynamic running back, was spotted at Thursday's practice dressed and participating in individual position drills, the team's official website is reporting. Spiller is trying to make a quick recovery from a shoulder injury he suffered during Buffalo's Week 3 victory, 24-14, over the Cleveland Browns. On Wednesday, Spiller only worked on the side with no helmet or pads as the Bills prepare for Sunday's contest with the New England Patriots (1 p.m. on CBS).

Its still unclear if Spiller was limited for the session, as head coach Chan Gailey has yet to speak with the media, but his return to the practice field shows progress.

Before Thursday's practice, Spiller told WGR's Joe Buscaglia he was going to be cautious during his workouts.

"We'll see how it goes. The main thing we don't want to do is rush it," he said. "It's only Week Four, we've got 16 more and plus if we want to get in to the postseason. We'll do it day by day and see what Sunday holds."

Spiller entered Week 3 of the NFL regular season as the league’s leading rusher. However, he left Sunday’s game early after he awkwardly landed on his shoulder on a screen play that was later nullified by a penalty.

Initially, it was expected Spiller would be out a few weeks, however, the former Clemson Tigers has healed quickly. His return for Sunday is still questionable.
