Vikings Vs. Lions: Game time, TV schedule, odds and more

The Vikings will head to Detroit to play the Lions on Sunday, and we have a preview, the early line and television listings for you here.

Brace Hemmelgarn-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Detroit Lions have beaten the Minnesota Vikings each of the last three times the teams have met, and they'll look to make it four in a row on Sunday when they meet in Detroit. One of the surprising teams in the NFL last year, the Lions are off to a slow start this season as they enter Sunday at 1-2. The 2-1 Vikings have exceeded the expectations of most, and a win in Week 4 would see them match their win total from all of last year.

Christian Ponder has been impressive under center for the Vikings this season. His 70.1 percent completion mark is good for second in the NFL, and a 104.9 passer rating has him sitting fifth in the NFL. This was likely what the Vikings envisioned when they spent a 2011 first round draft pick on the former Florida State Seminole quarterback.

The Vikings have also been getting more than they expected from Adrian Peterson at this stage in his recovery. Peterson has run for 230 yards on 58 carries, and has been able to carry more of the load than most Vikings fans would have reasonably thought that he could this early in the season.

The Lions will be hoping that quarterback Matthew Stafford is healthy enough to be under center on Sunday. Stafford is one of the most gifted passers in the NFL at the moment, but staying on the field has been a major issue throughout his career. He’ll have one of the NFL’s most dangerous weapons in Calvin Johnson to throw to on Sunday if he’s able to go.

The odds for this one have been set, and despite looking up at the Vikings in the standings, OddsShark likes Detroit to win by 5.5 points. The over/under for the game has been set at 47.
