Tony Sparano will interview with Chiefs for o-line coach, according to report

According to reports, the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to Tony Sparano as their next potential offensive line coach.

The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly looking into Tony Sparano as a potential candidate for the offensive line coach, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen (via Adam Schefter). The team is still rebuilding and started by bring in Andy Reid to be their head coach. He will be looking to build a competent coaching staff, and nabbing a former head coach to be a position coach isn't a terrible start.

However, if Sparano takes the job, it would mean a third consecutive demotion in as many years. Sparano would have gone from being the head coach of the Dolphins (2011), to the offensive coordinator of the Jets (2012) to the offensive line coach of the Chiefs (2013).

Sparano’s last two stops were very unsuccessful.

And when he was the head coach in Miami, there was a great deal of shuffling going on with the offensive line. The position group is supposed to be his specialty, but the past two units he’s been involved with -- though talented -- have not fared well.

Hopefully, for Andy Reid and the Chiefs’ sake, they have other candidates beyond Sparano.
