2013 NFL schedule: Green Bay has opportunity for revenge in NFC North

Fans stinging from Green Bay’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers will have an chance at payback in the 2013 season.

The 2013 NFL schedule has been sorted out as far as opponents go, and the NFC North has a number of interesting matchups. The exact week each game will take place has yet to be settled, but the matchups are all lined up and ready for fans to start looking ahead.

The Green Bay Packers are the reigning NFC North champions, but are coming off an embarrassing loss to the San Francisco 49ers. They'll have a shot at redemption in 2013, as they're scheduled to face the Niners in San Francisco. Another road game will give them a chance to avenge a playoff loss, as they face the New York Giants in New York, a rematch of a 2011 divisional round contest. The two teams also faced off in the 2012 regular season, with New York again taking the win. Green Bay will also be on the defensive, as the Pittsburgh Steelers, losers of Super Bowl XLV, come to Lambeau looking to even the score.

The Minnesota Vikings have some notable road games in 2013, including a visit to the Seattle Seahawks and the 12th man that is the Qwest Field crowd. That matchup resulted in a 30-20 loss in Week 9 of the 2012 regular season. Other challenging road opponents for the Vikings include the Giants and the Dallas Cowboys, but they also face the Cleveland Browns and the rebuilding Philadelphia Eagles.

The Chicago Bears have it a bit easier with their non-conference road games, with the Pittsburgh Steelers being the most formidable team they face. Road games against the Detroit Lions and Washington Redskins could go either way, while matchups against the Eagles, Browns and St. Louis Rams are likely to be favorable for the Bears.

The Lions have some home games that are likey to prove a challenge, as 2013 sees them host the Giants, Cowboys, and the Baltimore Ravens. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also come to town — if Josh Freeman's 2012 form shows up again in 2013, that could be a tough game for Detroit. Road games against the Eagles, Browns and Arizona Cardinals may be a bit easier going.
