Dorsey is perhaps best known as the all-time winningest quarterback in Miami Hurricanes history. In his time at the helm of the Hurricanes offense, Dorsey compiled a 38-2 record, won a national title and was a Heisman Trophy finalist.
Dorsey was selected in the seventh round of the 2003 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers and started 13 combined games with the 49ers and the Cleveland Browns.
After spending time in the CFL, Dorsey worked at the IMG Academy, where he trained former Panthers quarterback Chris Weinke and current Panthers quarterback Cam Newton before his rookie season.
He then joined the Panthers scouting department, where he spent two seasons. With his addition to the Panthers coaching staff, Dorsey will again get the chance to work with Newton, who had a strong sophomore season while leading Carolina to a 7-9 record.
