As players ready themselves for the Pro Bowl this weekend in Hawaii, most are disappointed they aren't in the Super Bowl. For some, that has allowed them to reevaluate where they stand in the NFL. According to Pro Football Talk, Saturday went on 1070 the Fan on Friday and openly said he’d be retiring following the Pro Bowl. The 14-year veteran stated, “We’ll finish it with sunsets in Hawaii and call it a much better career than I would have anticipated.”
After a remarkable career with Indianapolis, Saturday moved onto Green Bay, but was replaced midseason by Evan Deitrich-Smith.
Saturday went undrafted in 1998 but signed with the Baltimore Ravens. After one year, the UDFA went on to join the Colts, where he snapped the ball to Peyton Manning for over a decade. Saturday closed his career snapping the ball to Aaron Rodgers.
He would finish with six Pro Bowl nods, two AP All-Pros, and a Super Bowl ring to call his own -- not bad for an undrafted free agent.
