One thing we all love about the Super Bowl besides the snacks and epic nature of it, is the television ads. This is major time of year for some of the largest companies to have their ad seen. A lot of time, money and preparation goes into Super Bowl commercials annually.
This year, Mercedes-Benz contracted super model Kate Upton to be featured in their 2013 Super Bowl ad. This clearly falls in line with the “sex sells” philosophy of advertising. And if you’re going to drop a large sum of money on Super Bowl ad time, then why not give NFL fans something they’ll remember.
It was sort of surprising to see this spot run for a minute and thirty seconds. They could have gotten the point across much sooner, and probably saved a few million dollars in air time. For Super Bowl XLVII, the estimated cost for a 30-second ad is around $3.5 million.
