Pete Carroll frustrated with ‘horrible’ FedEx Field

Neither team complained about conditions, according to an NFL spokesman.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Seattle Seahawks head coach Peter Carroll told KIRO-AM in Seattle that field conditions at FedEx Field for Sunday's Wild Card Round game against the Washington Redskins were "horrible."

The Seahawks won the game, 24-14, but the team lost defensive end Chris Clemons to a knee injury early in the third quarter. Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III also suffered an injury and had to leave the game.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said neither team filed a complaint, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport:

The Seahawks are still awaiting results on Clemons' MRI, according to the Associated Press. Clemons was Seattle's best pass rusher this season, recording 11½ sacks and three forced fumbles in 16 starts.

Despite the field conditions, the Seahawks scored 24 unanswered points to advance into the NFC Divisional Round. Seattle was led by running back Marshawn Lynch, who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.

The win gives the Seahawks a date with the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on Fox. Atlanta and Seattle did not play each other during the regular season.
