Among the candidates to fill the general manager vacancy for the Kansas City Chiefs is San Francisco 49ers executive Tom Gamble, according to Randy Covitz of the Kansas City Star.
Chiefs GM rumors: 49ers’ Tom Gamble among candidates
Tom Gamble has already received interest from the Chargers, Jaguars and Jets for general manager vacancies.

While John Dorsey, the director of football operations for the Green Bay Packers has been considered the favorite for the Chiefs job, Gamble has been a popular name during the offseason and has received interviews for the Chargers, Jaguars and Jets GM positions. The Jaguars have since hired Dave Caldwell to fill their GM vacancy.
Gamble has 25 seasons of experience in the NFL and is in his eighth season with the 49ers after he was hired as the team's director of pro personnel. In February, Gamble was promoted to become the team's director of player personnel. Prior to joining the 49ers, Gamble had experience with the Jets, Panthers, Ravens, Eagles and Colts.
Covitz mentions Gamble as one of the "leading candidates" for the job along with Dorsey and former Cleveland Browns GM Tom Heckert. The Chiefs fired Scott Pioli as GM on Friday, Jan. 4.
