Rams vs. Panthers: James Laurinaitis is not your Superman

The Rams’ middle linebacker opted against playing into the defensive cliche of mocking Cam Newton.

James Laurinaitis decided against being the next in a long-line of defensive players to mock Cam Newton's Superman celebration when the Rams linebacker sacked Newton for a big loss in the first quarter of Sunday's game.

Defensive players routinely take shots at Newton's celebration, as the Panthers have a sub-500 record with him at quarterback, but Laurinaitis instead decided to let his play do the talking. The Rams have held Newton to 49 yards passing, sacking the Panthers' quarterback twice.
