Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Leon Hall has left his game against the Detroit Lions with an Achilles injury and will not return.
Leon Hall injury: Bengals cornerback won’t return against Lions
Hall suffered an Achilles injury during the first quarter has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

It’s a significant loss for the Bengals because Hall, the team’s top cover corner, has been matched up against the Lions big-play wide receiver Calvin Johnson. Hall suffered the injury while going up to defend a pass to Johnson in the endzone during the first quarter.
Fortunately for the Bengals, No. 2 cornerback Terence Newman, who battled an abdominal issue during the week, is active Sunday. He, Adam Jones and Dre Kirkpatrick will now need to step up to limit the Lions pass-happy offense. The Bengals have been one of the stronger pass defense teams this season, allowing just 216 yards through the air per game.
Hall has 14 tackles, one interception and six passes defensed so far in 2013.
