The Miami Dolphins are currently in "shambles," a source close to the team told Miami Herald beat writer Adam Beasley. The team is coming off a second-half comeback loss to the New England Patriots, and reports suggest that there has been growing dysfunction and anger among players and the coaching staff in recent days.

Tensions are reportedly mounting in Miami, with a source close to the Dolphins reportedly describing the team as in “shambles.”

Beasley's reporting comes on the heels of news that left tackle Jonathan Martin has been absent from practice since suffering what a teammate called "an emotional breakdown" following an incident in the team cafeteria. Players have also reportedly questioned offensive coordinator Mike Sherman's play calling against the Pats, namely the Dolphins' second-half abandonment of the run.
The stress has apparently resulted in sniping among the coaching staff, as well. Head coach Joe Philbin recently dressed down a top-level assistant in front of the team during practice, according to Beasley.
NFL.com’s Jeff Darlington countered some of what Beasley’s sources said, saying that he would not describe the Dolphins’ issues as “overwhelming dysfunction.“ Darlington did acknowledge that tension is growing in Miami, however.
The Dolphins have now lost four-straight games after opening the season 3-0. They will host the 6-2 Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night.
