NFL injury report, Week 5: Eric Fisher, Casey Hayward ruled out

There are a number of uncertain statuses across the NFL this weekend, and Packers cornerback Casey Hayward is still unable to make his 2013 season debut.

Jeff Hanisch-US PRESSWIRE

The Green Bay Packers will continue to be without Casey Hayward for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, as the cornerback continues to rehab from a hamstring injury suffered during the preseason. The electrifying cornerback, who led all rookies last season with six interceptions, returned to practice this week but will be unable to play against the Detroit Lions. The Packers will also be without running back James Starks, who will need at least one more week to heal his injured hand.

Running back Mark Ingram and receiver Lance Moore both missed practices this week for the New Orleans Saints and are doubtful for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. Ingram is still recovering from a toe injury, and Moore is dealing with a nagging hand injury. On the other side of the ball, defensive tackle Tyrunn Walker's status is uncertain after he missed practice this week with a knee injury.

The Indianapolis Colts continue to be without running back Ahmad Bradshaw, who is reportedly facing season-ending surgery for a neck injury suffered on Sept. 22 against the 49ers. There's a chance the injury can heal on its own, but for now the Colts will continue to rely on Trent Richardson and Donald Brown in the running game. Veteran safety LaRon Landry will be out for the Colts, as well, having not practiced since suffering a knee injury in Week 2.

The New York Giants, who just placed guard Chris Snee on injured reserve, once again will be without a number of important players in the lineup. Cornerbacks Aaron Ross and Jayron Hosley, center David Bass, and defensive tackle Linval Joseph have all been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Eagles. Cornerback Corey Webster did not practice this week and is doubtful for the game with a groin injury.

Breakout Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams. It's a tough blow for the Jaguars if they lose another weapon, with defensive end Jeremy Mincey, cornerback Dwayne Gratz, safety Dwight Lowery, tight end Mercedes Lewis and receiver Stephen Burton all having been ruled out for Sunday's game.

Finally, Kansas City Chiefs rookie offensive tackle Eric Fisher is out against the Tennessee Titans as he continues to recover from a concussion sustained in last week's game against the Giants. Fisher will be replaced by tackle Donald Stephenson, who appeared in seven games last season for the Chiefs at the position.
