Stevie Johnson injury: Bills WR expected back for Week 6

The veteran receiver is expected to return for the Bills next game.

Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson is not expected to miss any games and should return in time for the Week 6 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to coach Doug Marrone during his Friday press conference.

Johnson suffered a back injury during the second quarter of Thursday night's loss to the Cleveland Browns, returning to the game for one play before heading to the locker room for good. The loss for the Bills was further exacerbated later in the game when starting quarterback EJ Manuel was lost with a knee injury.

The No. 1 receiver for the Bills, Johnson has had three-straight seasons with at least 1,000 yards receiving, and through five games has 20 receptions for 254 yards and two touchdowns.

While Johnson is likely to return for the Bills' next game, the big question for the team is who will be throwing to him. Manuel is out at least four weeks with his knee injury, while backup Jeff Tuel struggled in his place on Thursday.
