Seahawks vs. Colts 2013: Indianapolis rides Trent Richardson to victory over Seattle

Our SB Nations writers are reacting to the Colts’ 34-28 win over the Seahawks.

The Colts are 4-1 following an impressive victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5. The 34-28 victory was composed by the play of Andrew Luck and his offense. The second-year player threw for 229 yards and two touchdowns in the victory over the previously-unbeaten Seahawks, who were unable to steal another win on the road against an AFC South team. Seattle was plagued by an interception and fumble from quarterback Russell Wilson. Both teams exchanged points on special teams but the Colts were able to come out on top.

Josh Wilson of Stampede Blue believes that new Colts running back Trent Richardson is just hitting his stride:

Much has been made of Trent Richardson's 3.1 yards per carry in this game. His first half was awful, carrying the ball 6 times for just 2 yards. He got no running lanes. But in the second half, his average jumped up to 4.5 yards per carry and he finished the day off running very well. I think he's the type of guy you have to just keep giving the football to and letting him chip away at the defense, wearing them out.

Jacson Bevens of Field Gulls believes the referees had way too much impact on the game:

Were there some bad calls that went against Seattle? Absolutely. Were there more questionable calls against the ‘Hawks than against the Colts? I would say so. Was it a factor in the outcome of the game? Sure. In a one score game everything is a factor, from phantom push-off calls to the O-line getting beat off the ball all game and the inability to keep the opposing quarterback from extending plays long past their natural lifetime. Or how about going 2-12 on 3rd down while allowing the Colts to go 7-12?

Next for the Seahawks is a home game against the Titans, while Colts will travel to San Diego to take on the Chargers for Monday Night Football in Week 6.
