Raiders vs. Texans 2013 final score: Matt McGloin leads road upset over Texans, 28-23
The Texans’ nightmare season continues. They lost to the Raiders, 28-23, and dropped to 2-8.
Matt McGloin made his NFL debut and got the Raiders off to a quick 14-0 start. Case Keenum struggled for most of the first half, throwing his first interception of the year. He recovered in time to throw a 42-yard touchdown to Garrett Graham. The Texans later tied the game with a crazy 87-yard punt return by Keshawn Martin. Randy Bullock hit a 51-yard field goal at the end of the second quarter and the Texans went into halftime leading, 17-14.
Things fell apart for Houston in the second half. McGloin hit Mychal Rivera for his third touchdown pass of the day and Rashad Jennings scored on an 80-yard run. The Texans made a controversial move late in the third quarter by pulling Keenum. Matt Schaub came back in after being benched for several weeks. The Texans kicked two more field goals and drove down to the red zone with two minutes left, down 28-23. Schaub drove the Texans down to the goal line with less than two minutes left, but they were unable to convert on fourth down, securing the win for Oakland.
