NFL playoff picture 2013: Eagles take over first place in NFC East

After the early Week 11 games, the NFL playoff picture has plenty of movement.

The Cincinnati Bengals took care of business after a shaky start against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, improving to 7-4 entering a bye week. Cincinnati has a stranglehold on the AFC North division lead and has closed the gap on Indianapolis for the No. 3 seed in the conference.

Meanwhile, in the NFC, the Detroit Lions collapsed offensively in the second half against the Pittsburgh Steelers, losing the game and dropping to 6-4. The NFC North gets even weirder with the Lions' loss as the Bears and Packers now have an opportunity to make up some ground. In the NFC East, the Eagles have taken over first place after a win on Sunday.

Here is a complete update on the AFC and NFC playoff pictures with the early games on Sunday.

AFC Playoff Picture

*Denotes a team which hasn’t completed its Week 11 game yet.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (9-0)*

2. New England Patriots (7-2)*

3. Indianpolis Colts (7-3)

4. Cincinnati Bengals (7-4)

5. Denver Broncos (8-1)*

6. New York Jets (5-5)

On the bubble

Miami Dolphins (4-5)*

Baltimore Ravens (4-5)*

San Diego Chargers (4-5)*

The Jets will have company for the No. 6 seed in the AFC. The winner of the game between the Dolphins and Chargers will be tied with the Jets, and the Ravens could also draw even with a win against the Chicago Bears.

NFC Playoff Picture

*Denotes a team which hasn’t completed its Week 11 game yet.

1. Seattle Seahawks (9-1)*

2. New Orleans Saints (7-2)*

3. Detroit Lions (6-4)

4. Philadelphia Eagles (6-5)

5. Carolina Panthers (6-3)*

6. San Francisco 49ers (6-3)*

On the bubble

Arizona Cardinals (6-4)

Dallas Cowboys (5-5)

Chicago Bears (5-4)*

Green Bay Packers (5-4)*

The NFC North and NFC East will both have tight races for the division crowd, and the lead could change hands in both after the Week 11 games. With a win over the Redskins, the Philadelphia Eagles have taken over first place in the NFC East as the Cowboys were on a bye week.
