NFL injuries, Week 11: Wes Welker, Jabari Greer and more

After another tough weekend in the NFL, there were a few injuries that will make their mark going forward.

As the NFL season continues to wear on, the injuries on piling up everywhere.

This past weekend, it appears few of the major names were bitten by the injury bug, but still there was attrition out there on the gridiron. Let’s go around the league:

Jabari Greer

Unfortunately, it appears the New Orleans Saints' quarterback sustained a very serious knee injury that could knock him out for the remainder of the season. Greer went down in the first quarter of the Saints' 23-20 win over the San Francisco 49ers. The 10-year veteran was carted off the field and obviously did not return to action.

Mike Pouncey

The Miami Dolphins center missed Sunday's game altogether with what is being termed a "minor medical issue". It was thought Pouncey would be able to play against the San Diego Chargers but he was ultimately held out of Miami's 20-16 victory.

Wes Welker

Welker was knocked out of the Denver Broncos' 27-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The slot receiver left in the fourth quarter with what is believed to be a concussion, after being sandwiched by multiple Chiefs. He will undergo further evaluation to determine his status going forward.

Mike Iupati

The San Francisco 49ers guard left Sunday's loss to New Orleans with a knee injury and did not return. per NFL.com. His loss was felt throughout, as quarterback Colin Kaepernick was under heavy duress as the game wore on.

Mike DeVito

The Kansas City Chiefs defensive end left their loss to Denver in the first quarter with what was being called a knee injury. DeVito left the field under his own power, and did not appear to be seriously hurt. However, he did not return to action.

Eric Fisher

The No. 1 pick of last year’s draft injured his shoulder against Denver and did not return. Fisher was seen getting treatment on his shoulder on the sideline from Chiefs medical personnel. The right tackle came out in the fourth quarter and remained on the sideline.

Keenan Allen

The Chargers wide receiver went down in the fourth quarter with a knee injury and did not return, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. The initial thought is that Allen has a hypertension, but the injury will be further evaluated on Monday to determine the exact issue.

Julius Thomas

The Broncos tight end suffered an ankle injury on Sunday, and appeared to be fine afterwards, returning after the initial play which he went down on. However, Mike Klis of the Denver Post is reporting that Thomas, will be undergoing tests to discover the severity of their issues.

Jordan Reed

The Washington Redskins tight end had to exit their 24-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles with a concussion, per NFL.com. Reed has been enjoying a fine rookie season, becoming one of Robert Griffin's favorite targets. His status for next week is uncertain.

Joique Bell

The Detroit Lions running back went down in their loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers with a lower body injury toward the end of the third quarter. Per the team's official twitter, Bell could have returned to action but was held out.
