Michael Huff will sign with Denver Broncos, per report

The Broncos are adding some veteran experience to their secondary.

Doug Pensinger

The Broncos are adding to their defensive backfield. Denver plans to sign veteran safety Michael Huff to a contract, according to ESPN's Jeff Legwold (via Adam Schefter). The Broncos would be Huff's third team in less than a calendar year.

More on the Broncos: Mile High Report

Huff was cut by the Raiders after seven years of service during the summer, but quickly signed with the Ravens to replace former Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed. The former Texas Longhorn lasted just seven games with Baltimore and was cut in October. The Broncos would likely use Huff as a backup safety and special teamer.

The former first-round pick was an All-Pro selection in 2010 and has 11 interceptions in his eight-year career. He has the ability to be play at cornerback and covered tight ends and slot receivers in Oakland. It is unclear whether or not Huff will play in Week 12 for the Broncos. Denver will travel to New England to take on the Patriots on Sunday.
