J. Meric

Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey will miss Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. Pouncey has been having concerns the last two weeks. He was hospitalized with food poisoning recently and missed Miami's last game with gallbladder problems.

There is no timetable for Pouncey’s return and he is hoping to recover with the use of medicine. If he fails to show improvement, then he may have to opt for gallbladder surgery. The Dolphins are now missing three of their five starters on the offensive line.

Here are some more headlines you may have missed on Saturday:

Jaguars DE Jeremy Mincey violates team rules, doesn’t travel to Houston

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without Jeremy Mincey on Sunday. The veteran pass rusher will miss their game against the Houston Texans after violating team policy, according to the Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran. Mincey has served as mostly depth during the season and has just two sacks so far this year.

A poor scheme fit, Mincey has served as Tyson Alualu’s backup. He is just one year removed from signing a four-year deal with the previous regime.

Jordan Reed injury: Redskins TE ruled out for Monday game vs. 49ers

The Washington Redskins will be without a rising offensive star against the 49ers on Monday night. Tight end Jordan Reed has been ruled out for the game with a concussion, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Reed suffered the injury during Washington's 24-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11.

The Redskins are already without wide receiver Leonard Hankerson, who suffered a season-ending knee injury against Philadelphia. Veterans Fred Davis and Santana Moss will likely have larger roles on Monday with the loss fo Reed and Hankerson.

Patriots release RB/KR Leon Washington

The New England Patriots have dropped a veteran from their roster. New England released kick returner Leon Washington on Sunday, according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora. The two-time Pro Bowl returner appeared in only two games for the Patriots this season.

Washington had one carry for one yard and a 19-yard kick return this season. This is the second time the Patriots have cut Washington this year. He was initially released during final cuts in August.

Packers activate DE Jerel Worthy off PUP, place CB Casey Hayward on IR

The Green Bay Packers are swapping defensive players between the active and inactive lists. Green Bay placed cornerback Casey Hayward on injured reserve to make room for defensive end Jerel Worthy, who was activated off the physically unable to perform list, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Hayward appeared in just three games this season due to a hamstring injury. Worthy was a second-round pick in the 2012 draft for the Packers. He has 14 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in his rookie season.
