Packers injuries: CB Casey Hayward put on IR, Jerel Worthy activated from PUP

The Packers are swapping defensive players from the active and injury lists.

The Green Bay Packers are moving around their defensive personnel due to injuries. Cornerback Casey Hayward's season is over after the Packers placed him on injured reserve on Saturday, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The move comes after Hayward suffered a setback with his hamstring that caused him to miss several games to start the season.

Second-year defensive end Jerel Worthy will take Hayward's place on the active roster, per Silverstein. Worthy has been on the physically unable to perform list since training camp with a knee injury. The former second-round pick played in 14 games as a rookie and recorded 14 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in his first season.

Safety Sean Richardson was also activated off the PUP on Saturday, according to Silverstein. He will take the place of cornerback James Nixon, who was also placed on injured reserve with Hayward.

The Packers will host the Vikings in Week 12.
