Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis will be assigned to cover Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, no matter where he lines up on the field on Sunday, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Darrelle Revis assigned to Calvin Johnson for Bucs-Lions
The Bucs will assign Revis Island to try and lock down Megatron on Sunday.

Revis will reportedly cover Johnson exclusively on Sunday in an attempt to slow down the NFL’s best wide receiver. The Lions receiver has gained 746 yards on just 35 receptions the past four games alone, scoring seven touchdowns and averaging more than 22 yards per catch in that span. Megatron has proven to be nearly unstoppable in recent weeks, but the Bucs will attempt to use “Revis Island” to at the very least try.
The Buccaneers traded for Revis in the offseason, signing the former New York Jet to a six-year, $96 million contract based on his incredible performance as the NFL’s top shutdown cornerback since 2007. From 2009 to 2011, Revis recording 62 passes defensed and ten interceptions; in ten games with Tampa Bay this season, Revis has just seven passes defensed and has two interceptions on the season.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET with coverage on FOX.
