Fred Davis injury update: Redskins TE will play vs. 49ers
The veteran tight end is expected to play for the first time in five weeks on Monday.
With rookie tight end Jordan Reed out on Monday with a concussion, Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis is expected to be active for the first time in five games, according to Redskins reporter Grant Paulson.
Davis played in four of the first five games of the season but was ineffective when he was on the field, catching just three passes for 25 yards before being held off the stats sheet against Oakland and Dallas. With rookie Jordan Reed showing to be a much better option for Robert Griffin III and the Redskins offense, Davis was benched for the past five games.
Reed has 45 catches for 499 yards and three touchdowns on the season and will be inactive on Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers after suffering a concussion in last week's loss. The Redskins are also expected to have receiver Josh Morgan back on the field after he was inactive last week, with Leonard Hankerson out with an LCL injury.
