Carolina Panthers running back Mike Tolbert and defensive end Charles Johnson were both held out of Wednesday's practice with injuries, according to the Charlotte Observer.
Mike Tolbert, Charles Johnson remain out of Panthers practice
Carolina was without a few mainstays on Wednesday, sitting out of practice in hopes of healing.
Johnson is trying to come back from a MCL sprain that he sustained two weeks ago on Monday Night Football against the New England Patriots. Johnson was inactive for last week's contest but hopes to be ready this time around against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tolbert is battling a hamstring issue that popped up during the second half of Carolina's 20-16 win over the Miami Dolphins last Sunday. The rollicking fullback also is dealing with a bruised knee, but expects to be able to play this weekend.
At 8-3, the Panthers are sitting a game back in the NFC South behind the New Orleans Saints, who they play in two of their final four games this season. Currently, Carolina is the NFC's No. 5 seed as the top wild card team.
