Tony Gonzalez injury: Falcons TE returns to practice
Atlanta’s future of Hall of Famer is back on the field after missing time with a toe injury.
Gonzalez is winding down one of the best careers in NFL history with Atlanta, playing in his 17th season. The tight end injured his toe in the loss to the New Orleans Saints last Thursday but looks like he will be able to go this week against the Buffalo Bills at Toronto.
Gonzalez has proven to be extremely durable throughout his career, missing only two games. The former University of California star has been excellent once again this season, catching 58 passes for 611 yards and four touchdowns. In his career, Gonzalez is the all-time leader for tight ends with 107 touchdowns, 14,879 yards. His 1,300 receptions trails only former wideout Jerry Rice.
At 2-9, the Falcons are simply playing out the string before going into an offseason with plenty of questions.
