More on the matchup: Atlanta has owned this head-to-head matchup in recent years. Matt Ryan and the Falcons have won five of the last six meetings between the teams, but dropped a late-season contest in 2012 when Cam Newton ran for 116 yards in a 30-20 win. Injuries have ravaged both sides of the Falcons, who are a shadow of their early-season potential. The Panthers, on the other hand, weren’t highly regarded in preseason, but now find themselves on a three-game win streak and becoming a hot commodity for pundits.
