DeMarco Murray injury: Cowboys RB expected to start vs. Vikings

The young running back is expected to return to the field after sitting out the past two weeks with yet another injury.

Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray is expected to start on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, reports ESPN's Ed Werder.

Murray has missed the past two games with a sprained left knee, suffered early in the Oct. 13 win over the Washington Redskins. The third-year running back attempted to come back the next week but reportedly suffered a setback in his rehab after pushing himself to return, but now appears set to play after being listed as probable heading into the weekend.

The Cowboys have been playing rookie Joseph Randle in Murray's stead, with Lance Dunbar and Phillip Tanner providing spot duty without much success on the ground. Dallas is averaging just 80.6 yards per game on the ground this season, good for No. 27 in the NFL, and have all but abandoned the running game in most games this season while relying on the passing attack of Tony Romo and company.

Murray has 428 yards on 91 carries and has eclipsed 100 yards rushing in a game just once, on Sept. 22 against the St. Louis Rams.
