The Pittsburgh Steelers are down to their third center on the depth chart, following an injury to Fernando Velasco. The veteran lineman suffered an Achilles injury against the Baltimore Ravens on Thanksgiving and has been placed on injured reserve, according to NFL.com. Velasco started in place of Maurkice Pouncey, after the original starter suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 1.
Fernando Velasco injury: Steelers center placed on IR
The Steelers have lost another starting center.

The former Tennessee Titan was signed just days after the Pouncey injury and immediately installed as the starting center. The fifth-year player started 11 games and played well for the Steelers, as they turned around their season after losing their first three games. Velasco was undrafted out of Georgia in 2008 and spent the first four years of his career in Tennessee.
Fourth-year journeyman Cody Wallace is expected to start at center for Pittsburgh moving forward. He has played in five games this season and 14 total during his short career.
