The National Football League Players Association has released a statement on the subject of Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Richie Incognito, who has allegedly bullied fellow teammate Jonathan Martin.

The saga of Martin and Incognito continues with a statement from the players association.

We expect that the NFL and its clubs create a safe and professional workplace for all players and that owners, executives, coaches and players should set the best standards and examples. It is the duty of this union to hold the clubs and teams accountable for safety and professionalism in the workplace.
As the representative organization of all players, the NFLPA will insist on a fair investigation for all involved. We will continue to remain in contact with the impacted players, their representatives and player leadership.
Incognito has been accused of leaving threatening and racially-charged voicemails and text messages on the phone of Martin. Last week, Martin left the team to get away from the bullying, causing the issue to bubble up to the surface.
Martin, a second year left tackle out of Stanford, allegedly was made to pay $15,000 to Incognito to help fund a veterans trip to Las Vegas this year, despite Martin not being party to the trip.
Subsequently, the Dolphins suspended Incognito indefinitely after initially denying there was any problem within the team. Reports have since surfaced that Incognito will never play another down of football for Miami.
For his part, Incognito has demanded apologies form those accusing him of these actions.
