More on the matchup: San Francisco won convincingly when these teams last met in late September. Frank Gore ran for over 150 total yards, while Anquan Boldin and Vernon Davis each caught touchdowns in a 35-11 win. St. Louis has changed offensively since that point, losing Sam Bradford to injury but galvanizing as an overall team. The passing game has suffered, but running the ball has become a more reliable option while rookie Tavon Austin is starting to make an impact. These factors, paired with both teams' excellent defensive line play, are reasons to watch them on Sunday.
