Christian Ponder injury: Vikings QB out with a possible concussion
Ponder took a big shot at the end of the first half and will not return to the game.
Ponder suffered the injury towards the end of the second quarter. While trying to move the Vikings in scoring position, he took a big shot while completing the pass. Ponder kneeled on the field in obvious discomfort before leaving. He is currently being evaluated for concussion syndromes. Matt Cassel will finish the game.
Ponder was having another poor game before the injury, completing just 3-of-8 passes for 40 yards and a 54.2 Quarterback Rating. He also took three sacks and the Vikings have managed only 16 net passing yards in the first half. The Vikings have a 7-6 lead at the half thanks to a 33-yard touchdown run by Cordarrelle Patterson.
