Chris Cook ejected from Vikings-Bears for tapping referee

Don’t touch your referees, guys. Unless you’re high-fiving them.

Alshon Jeffery made an absolutely preposterous catch for the Bears, his second touchdown in an absolutely preposterous day, and Vikings cornerback Chris Cook maybe thought it wasn’t a touchdown, as Jeffery came down near the sideline. So when the referee put his hands up to say “touchdown,” he went over and talked to the ref -- and gave him a light tap on the chest.

Doesn’t look like much at all, but according to the refs, it was enough to end his day. Next up on the depth chart is Shaun Prater, but considering Jeffery has 234 yards and two touchdowns on the day, there might not be anybody in a Vikings uniform capable of stopping him.

A reminder that Tramon Williams was a little bit more demonstrative the other day... and didn’t get thrown out.

(For his part, Williams says his shove was accidental.)

I just think everybody should be nice and friendly with their respective referees, like Cordarrelle Patterson.
