Denver police have 3 in custody for stabbing at Chargers game, according to report

A bad night turned tragic for the Broncos on Thursday. Three suspects are in custody for a quadruple stabbing that occurred outside of Sports Authority Field at Mile High after the Broncos’ loss to the Chargers.

Three suspects are in custody for their potential involvement in a quadruple stabbing after the Denver Broncos' loss to the San Diego Chargers on Thursday night, Denver police announced early Friday morning via Twitter. Of the four victims in the case, one is in critical condition, two are stable, and a fourth is reportedly missing. The three known victims were all men. The police do not believe that any suspects are still at large.

A large altercation took place in the parking lot adjacent to Sports Authority Field at Mile High following the Broncos’ loss. Details of how the incident started are still unclear. Police responded to the fight at 11:55 p.m. ET (9:55 p.m., locally). Investigators reportedly interviewed witnesses throughout the night.

Tragedy has now followed Broncos twice within the last two weeks. Against the Kansas City Chiefs on Dec. 1, a man died during a post-game altercation in the parking lot at Arrowhead Stadium following the Broncos' 35-28 win over their division rival.

The Broncos suffered their first home loss of the season, 27-20, against the Chargers, an fell to 11-3 on the season. They are currently in first place in the AFC, though they could relinquish the top spot if the New England Patriots beat the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
