NFL roundup: Josh Robinson to IR, Jordan Reed ruled out and more

The Minnesota Vikings placed Josh Robinson on injured reserve, Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed has been ruled out for Week 15 and more you might have missed from Saturday in the NFL.

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sport

The Minnesota Vikings placed defensive back Josh Robinson on injured reserve Saturday. Robinson suffered a fractured sternum in Week 11 and is now done for the season. He was primarily a nickel corner, but struggled at times. Minnesota activated safety Harrison Smith to the 53-man roster to take Robinson's spot. Smith was sidelined in Week 7 with turf toe, and his return is definitely big for Minnesota.

Here’s what else you might have missed from Saturday:

Reed ruled out

Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed did not pass the required concussion protocols to be eligible to play in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons. Reed sustained the concussion back in Week 10 and hasn't played since. There's multiple tests he needs to pass before he can practice and play. At this point, it seems unlikely that Reed plays again this season, given that the Redskins aren't competing for a spot in the playoffs.

Johnson questionable for Sunday

Carolina Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson was added to the team's injury report on Saturday. He is officially listed as questionable with flu-like symptoms. Johnson is Carolina's top pass rusher, though he's missed two games already this season with an MCL sprain and the Panthers held out just fine. Still, it would make things a lot tougher than it needs to be. Johnson will play if his condition improves, however.

Peterson questionable

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is questionable for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Peterson is dealing with a sprained foot. He's no stranger to playing through injury or pain, and the veteran running back has made it clear that there is definitely some pain. Still, the Vikings are out of the playoff race and might think it best to sit Peterson, who has dealt with significant injuries recently. The risk of re-injury may be too great at this point.
