Victor Cruz injury: Giants WR ruled out with concussion

Victor Cruz went down hard on the turf hard and was helped off the field with a concussion. His day is over.

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz was forced from Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks with a head injury and will not return. The Giants quickly ruled him out with a concussion and knee sprain after taking a hard fall to the turf.

Cruz went up to grab a jump ball from Eli Manning. He was brought down by Jeremy Lane and his head smacked against the turf. Cruz was helped off the field by trainers and evaluated on the sidelines. His status will be updated when more information is available.

Before the injury, Cruz was having a quiet game, being held to two catches for 25 yards. The Giants have been unable to move the ball against Seattle's defense and are being shut out in the third quarter. Cruz has been one of the few bright spots in the Giants' disappointing season, grabbing 73 catches for 998 yards and four touchdowns on the year. Rueben Randle will fill in for Cruz alongside Hakeem Nicks.
