Here’s the NFL news you may have missed on Monday.

The Detroit Lions had a golden opportunity to win the NFC North in 2013. Jay Cutler went down for the Bears, and Aaron Rodgers went down for the Packers. The door was open for the Lions.

But after a tough loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night, Detroit's playoff hopes have dwindled, and Jim Schwartz may be in danger of losing his job.

According to Ian Rapoport, Schwartz has to make the playoffs in order to save his job. Monday wasn’t a good step towards job security.

Here’s the other news you may have missed on Monday.

Richie Incognito won’t be active for the rest of the season

The Miami Dolphins initially suspended guard Richie Incognito for six games, a sentence that ended Monday. But Incognito and the Dolphins agreed to extend his suspension for the remainder of the season with pay. The news was initially reported by Chris Mortensen of ESPN.

Mike Shanahan says RG3 is the Redskins’ quarterback

Mike Shanahan may have benched Robert Griffin III, but he still considers him to be the quarterback of the Washington Redskins. Shanahan also decided to emphasize the competition Kirk Cousins provides the team. Few teams have had a wilder controversy at quarterback this season than Washington.

Larry Fitzgerald may have concussion

Larry Fitzgerald took a hit to the head on Sunday and missed overtime. He was evaluated for a concussion after the game and still has some tests to pass before returning to the field. According to the Arizona Republic, Fitzgerald was not feeling well after the game.
