Giants safety Will Hill arrested

The latest in a long line of troubles for the Giants safety leaves New York thin in terms of backups at the position.

New York Giants safety Will Hill is in trouble again. The former Florida Gator was arrested on Friday in relation to child support payments, according to the New York Daily News' Ralph Vacciano. Hill has a history of both legal and league trouble since entering the NFL in 2012.

Hill has served two separate four-game suspensions for violating the league’s substance abuse and performance-enhancing drug policies. He was arrested for driving with a suspended license in 2011 and he has been reported to have had domestic disputes as well. Hill has at least four children, but it is unclear which child is involved with the accusations that resulted in his arrest.

Hill has appeared in 28 games in two seasons with the Giants, after being signed as an undrafted free agent. He has collected 98 tackles, an interception and three forced fumbles over those two seasons. He made the trip to Detroit with the team on Saturday. It is unclear whether or not he will play against the Lions on Sunday. The team's official depth chart on Giants.com lists Hill as the backup to both free safety Ryan Mundy and strong safety Antrel Rolle, with only rookie Cooper Taylor behind Hill.
