Greg Schano refutes rumors of interest in Penn State coaching gig

Despite being on the NFL hot seat, Greg Schiano has denied any interest in the Penn State coaching job.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano denied a report that stated he had is interested in taking the job at Penn State. Schiano said there is "zero truth" to the rumors, and added "the only job I want is the one I have right now."

Coaching rumors are ramping up with both the NFL and college football seasons winding down. Current Penn State coach Bill O'Brien is considered a favorite to jump to the NFL, and Schiano's future in Tampa is shaky after a disastrous second season. The Bucs are currently 4-11 and dealt with a number of controversies this year, such as an MRSA outbreak in the locker room and an ugly divorce from quarterback Josh Freeman.

Schiano has previously been linked to the Penn State job going back to 2011 and 2012. The speculation stems from the fact that Schiano once worked as an assistant in Happy Valley, and has extensive experience coaching at the college level. He was the head coach at Rutgers for 11 years before being hired by the Bucs.
