NFL odds and lines, 49ers vs. Cardinals 2013: Even matchup with playoff implications

The Cardinals will host the 49ers in a “must-win” game for their playoff hopes, but the odds are even for this matchup.

The 49ers will travel to Arizona to face the Cardinals in the regular-season finale. The Cardinals have to win this game to keep their playoffs hopes alive, while the 49ers could use a win to possibly get home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Due to both teams playing well and having so much on the line, this matchup is considered even, according to OddsShark. The over/under for the game is 42 points.

The Cardinals average 23.9 points per game while allowing 20 points on defense. The 49ers put up 25.5 points per game, but are giving up only 16.8 points to opposing teams. Arizona is 7-8 with the over/under, though just 3-4 at home. San Francisco is also 7-8 on the season with total points, but are 4-4 on the road. The Cardinals are 5-0-1 in the last six games against the spread, and are 10-4-1 on the season. The 49ers are 9-4-1 against the spread this season.

The Cardinals will need the Saints to lose to the Buccaneers at home in order to have a shot at the playoffs. Both games will be going on simultaneously, so it should not impact the score.
