Saints stuck in Seattle on short week

New Orleans is not having a good time in the Great Northwest after getting beat by the Seahawks.

The New Orleans Saints got trounced 34-7 by the host Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football, and now are stuck in the city after suffering plane troubles, according to Adam Schefter.

For the Saints, this is a major problem. The team is already on a short week after having to play on Monday, but now will not leave Seattle until midday Tuesday at the earliest. With a huge showdown against the Carolina Panthers coming on Sunday night at the Superdome.

New Orleans and Carolina both enter that contest 9-3 atop the NFC South. The game has all kinds of playoff implications, chief among them the No. 2 seed in the conference. Whoever wins will move to 10-3 and be at least two games better than any other team in the NFC save the Seahawks. Of course, the top two seeds earn bye weeks.

With the loss in Seattle, the Saints dropped to 4-3 on the road this season. Losing to the Seahawks is not only ugly in the score, but it really hurts any chance of going to the Super Bowl considering their struggles away from home.
