The Cincinnati Bengals placed offensive lineman Clint Boling on season-ending injured reserve on Tuesday. Boling sustained an ACL injury against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, and the deadline to place players on short-term injured reserve has passed, not that he'd have any chance to return from such an injury in such a short amount of time regardless.
Bengals place Clint Boling on injured reserve, sign Dennis Roland
The Cincinnati Bengals placed offensive lineman Clint Boling on injured reserve on Tuesday, and signed Dennis Roland to fill his roster spot.

Boling is the ninth Bengals player to find himself on injured reserve this season. He’ll undergo surgery this week to repair the damage, and a recovery timeline puts him back around the start of training camp heading into the 2014-15 season.
The third-year guard out of Georgia started every game last season and was the starter every game this year as well.
The team signed Dennis Roland to fill Boling's spot on the roster. It's unclear how the lineup will look when its all said and done, but Andrew Whitworth could move to Boling's old spot, while Roland would fill in some much-needed depth.
Roland spent three games with the team this season and has spent his entire career with the Bengals, not playing for any team in between his release and now. He’s played in 69 career games and three postseason appearances. He’s an offensive tackle primarily, which lends credibility to the thought that the team could shift Whitworth inside.
