The New York Jets signed kick returner Darius Reynaud on Tuesday, according to Albert Breer of NFL.com. Reynaud is a return specialist who was released by the Tennessee Titans earlier in the season after making multiple mistakes fielding punts.
Jets sign returner Darius Reynaud
The New York Jets signed kick returner Darius Reynaud on Tuesday. Josh Cribbs and Jeremy Kerley both are banged up.

Against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7, Reynaud muffed a punt that 49ers' special teamer Kassim Osgood recovered in the end zone for a touchdown. The Titans were already down by 14 points at that stage in the game, but Reynaurd was released soon thereafter regardless.
Back on Sept. 8, Reynaud also took a return into the end zone to try and down it, but the play resulted in a safety. For his career, Reynaud has 102 punt returns for 985 yards and two touchdowns and 101 kick returns for 2,272 yards and a touchdown. He’s certainly been solid in the past, but his mistakes have been costly this season.
The Jets have Josh Cribbs to return kickoffs and Jeremy Kerley to return punts here and there, but both players are now injured. Cribbs' injury may be season-ending, meaning Reynaud could conceivably take over return duties on both kickoffs and punts relatively quickly, provided the Jets like what they see in practice.
