Texans vs. Jaguars 2013 picks and predictions: Experts favoring Jacksonville at home

The experts are favoring the Jacksonville Jaguars to hold off the Houston Texans in Week 14.

Matt Sullivan

The Houston Texans will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in a Week 14 matchup on Sunday. Before the season began, this matchup was probably considered a one-sided affair, with the Texans expected to dominate from start to finish. But the Texans have fallen far this season, and sport a 2-10 record. The Jaguars, once considered the worst team in the league this season, are slightly better at 3-9.

Houston has lost its last 10 games, with its only two wins coming in the first two weeks of the season. One of those losses was to the Jaguars, falling by a score of 13-6 in Week 12. Since then, the Texans have also fallen to the New England Patriots in Week 13. Jacksonville has won its last two games and three of its last four. Week 13 was a 32-28 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

SB Nation’s panel of six experts is divided when it comes to this one. Ryan Van Bibber, Stephen White and David Fucillo are all picking the Jaguars to win it at home. Joel Thorman, Jason Chilton and Matt Ufford are picking Houston to recover from its titanic losing skid.

Over at CBS Sports, the experts aren’t quite as divided. Six of the eight experts are picking the Jaguars to win, including Pete Prisco, Jason La Canfora and Will Brinson. Ryan Wilson and John Breech were the lone dissenters picking the Texans to score what is technically an upset.
