NFL picks and predictions, Bills vs. Buccaneers 2013: Experts favor Tampa Bay at home

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are favored to best the Buffalo Bills at home in Week 14.

Streeter Lecka

The Buffalo Bills take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a Week 14 matchup on Sunday. Both teams are out of the playoff running at this point in the season, but who said matchups between two bad teams can't be fun? Tampa Bay (3-9) lost its first eight games of the season, won its next three and then fell to the Carolina Panthers in Week 13.

Buffalo broke a three-game losing skid in Week 11 against the New York Jets, but fell to the bad Atlanta Falcons in overtime in Week 13. Neither team has been particularly good at any one thing this season, though the Bills are no slouches in the running game. Defending the run is one of the few things the Buccaneers actually do well, however.

When it comes to which team will win, we’ve got several experts to discuss. First, SB Nation’s panel of six experts weighed in and four of the six picked the Buccaneers to win it. The lone dissenters were Joel Thorman and Stephen White, who think the Bills will win this one on the road. For the rest of the week’s picks, go here.

The experts over at CBS Sports agreed a little more, with seven of the eight picking the Buccaneers to hold at home. Pete Prisco, Jason La Canfora and Will Brinson were among those picking Tampa Bay. Josh Katzowitz was the lone dissenter picking Buffalo. Over at ESPN, it’s a similar spread, with 11 of the 13 experts picking the Buccaneers. Mike Ditka and Adam Schefter were the two picking the Bills.
