Rams vs. Cardinals score: Carson Palmer on point as Arizona leads at half

A game-time decision because of an elbow injury, Palmer was active and made the start and is off to an incredibly accurate start versus St. Louis.

Bruce Arians wasn't sure that his starting quarterback would be ready to go against the St. Louis Rams in Week 14, but not only is Carson Palmer playing, he's playing exceptionally well. Leading 14-3 at halftime, Palmer is 16-of-17 for 169 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. It continues an impressive turnaround this season for the former No. 1 overall pick.

Acquired from the Oakland Raiders in the offseason, Palmer struggled to acclimate himself to Arians' offense, throwing 13 interceptions over his first seven games. The Cards were also just 3-4 and looked to be out of any postseason talks. However, Palmer came into Sunday with 11 touchdowns over his last five games and Arizona has won four of those contests.

But things were concerning for Arians and Arizona with Palmer questionable to play this week due to an elbow injury. Luckily for them, and unluckily for the Rams, he was active to start the game and is absolutely on point through two quarters. He’s finally starting to resemble the player in Cincinnati who once showed as much promise as any young player in the NFL.

It's also been a nice bounce back recently for wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who has eight catches for 71 yards and a touchdown at the half.
