Champ Bailey will remain with Denver Broncos, according to report

The 14-year veteran will be back with the Broncos next season.

USA TODAY Sports

Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey isn't going anywhere, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

Bailey was reportedly in line to be a “cap casualty,” but the Broncos will return the veteran for the 2013 season, Klis wrote.

Bailey is set to make $10.5 million next season. He has two years left on his contract, with another $10 million owed to the 12-time Pro Bowler in 2014.

SB Nation’s Mile High Report still has confidence that Bailey can play cornerback.

The former first-round pick in the 1999 NFL Draft had a productive 14th season in the NFL in 2012. Bailey played in all 16 regular season games, recording 66 total tackles and two interceptions. It was one of his best seasons since 2006 when he intercepted an NFL-high 10 passes.

Bailey's season didn't end as well, though. He was beat by Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens on two deep touchdown passes in the AFC divisional round. The Broncos entered the playoffs as the conference's No. 1 seed, but lost to the Ravens, 38-35.
