Leach battled through a sprained right ankle and a sprained right knee during the Ravens' Super Bowl run, but nothing will require him to go under the knife:
“He is fine,” Leach’s agent, Ralph Vitolo, wrote in an email to The Baltimore Sun. “No medical issues.”
Leach, 31, has proven himself to be the best fullback in football. He is a three-time Pro Bowler and three-time first team All-Pro. All the honors came in the last three seasons. He was with the Houston Texans in 2010 before joining the Ravens for the last two years.
Next season is Leach’s third and final year of his contract with the Ravens. He’s due $4.3 million. Considering the Ravens are one of the few teams in football who uses a prototypical fullback in their offense, you would think they would want him back after 2013.
Leach is primarily a blocker, but he’s also found the end zone with some consistency. He’s had six rushing touchdowns in each season with the Ravens. Twelve of his 21 carries with the Ravens have been for touchdowns.
